About us

Welcome to Whispering Pine K9.  Here you will learn a little about Nick & Krystie and what they have to offer for your dog.

Krystie has been an animal lover ever since she was a child.  Rescuing, rehabilitating, nursing and training animals.  Always striving to trouble shoot and see the best in every situation.  In her life time she has owned cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, fish, horses, goats, turtles (need we say more?).  She is a mother of three and has been married to her husband Nick since 2001.

How did Whispering Pine K9 start? It all started when Krystie purchased her first Belgian Malinois, Kuma, when he was 16 weeks old.  Kuma has been Krystie's inspiration to not only do better by the breed, but to learn about dog/handler/trainer ethics.  Through their journey together they have learned & taught each other so much.  They've made friends, met new people and then COVID hit.  Let’s fast forward a little bit to when people started returning back to work and a normal life.

During the COVID shut down, people had purchased puppies and rescued dogs.  Since Krystie worked from home she thought, "why not help others!"   Krystie started out boarding dogs out of her home.  When she grew larger than home, she decided to take day trips with the dogs to the horse farm where she, her husband Nick and children have horses, cats and chickens.   Pet parents really enjoyed that their pets got to experience nature outside of the city life that Krystie started gaining a lot of repeat clients.  Through the boarding side of the business, Krystie listened to the many clients talk about dog and puppy manners,  to owners having issues with them at home and needed training.  Krystie wanted to help so she decided to take another step forward and went through schooling to become a dog trainer.   Krystie utilizes her mentors including Tyler Muto, Michael Ellis, APDT, connecting with local dog trainers and taking weekly CEU’s to keep up with learning.

Mid 2022, Nick and Krystie were blessed beyond words, with a building located in Pataskala, Ohio.

“The Whispering Pine K9 team is absolutely amazing!! From boarding to grooming we knew our golden-doodle puppy was in good hands. He LOVES everyone there and enjoys his visits! Highly recommend them and won’t go anywhere else🐾”

Brandy, Koves owner

“We adopted our dog dexter and have been struggling with his training and separation anxiety. We cannot thank whispering pine k9 enough. Our dexter now knows basic commands and knows how to handle his separation anxiety better. 1000% would recommend them to anyone!”

“Drop off and pickup were super quick and easy.  Krystie was very responsive the many times that I texted to check on my pups.  My pups came home relaxed and calm after a week of boarding, which is unusual for my anxious pups.  Overall a great experience.  Will use again."

Kristi S, Ohio

"Krystie was amazing with Remi!  This was my first time boarding and I was quite skeptical but she answered all of my questions and the facility was beautiful!  She even took the time to give my dog extra attention, sending photos and communicating the whole time.  I would absolutely use Whispering Pine K9 again!  Great experience!."

Susan P, Ohio

“My dog use to be hell on wheels, jumping on people, counter surfing, dragging me on walks until Whispering Pine K9 I didn't think I would ever have a good relationship with Bear.  Not only did Bear receive education and training, but they helped me understand how to work with him and be a better dog mom.  Absolutely recommend then to anyone.”
